Turning to a neutral, unbiased coach who can serve as a sounding board and judgment-free confidante for issues that can't or shouldn't be handled with others internally might be useful when you're feeling unfulfilled, under-challenged, under-appreciated, insecure, overburdened, and/or demoralized.
Working one-on-one with a coach facilitates the learning of new skills, attitudes, knowledge and their application, leading to long-lasting progress and growth.
A coach will work with you to understand your issues and hurdles, whether they be habits, beliefs, or behaviors, while providing you with the knowledge, tools, and resources you might need to successfully handle a variety of potential outcomes.
Coaching results may be seen within one month, but the duration of the coaching process will vary based on the individual's goals and progress.
Many people find that they benefit more from coaching than they initially expected, and therefore continue for longer periods, typically between 9 months to a year.
I usually recommend a commitment of 3-6 months; this ensures that you understand that it is hard work to change habits of thinking and acting and that you are committed to making a concentrated effort and understand that it takes time.
For the highest return on investment, and most impact/benefit, it’s important that we dig into these root issues so that we’re creating long-lasting change with highly-effective behaviors.
Working together for at least three months is recommended because it takes time to create a rapport, build trust, a foundation for the coaching relationship. Ideally, 6-12 months of working together 2x per month, followed by 1x monthly is best to ensure that you have the support you need should your environment, experiences or circumstances change.
This is where the most benefit and value is seen by most of my clients. This is dependent on an individual's unique situation, goal and objectives, as well as their learning speed and confidence level.
Absolutely! 100%. I adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics.
ICF-credentialed coaches and members have an obligation to maintain confidentiality: they must not reveal any information obtained during the coaching engagement without the client's agreement.
As a client, you have the right to confidentiality. As your coach I would bring up this topic at the outset of the coaching engagement to ensure that you understand that you have complete ownership over your information and that you have the authority to set the boundaries around it.
When coaching occurs in the office, company, or organization I will make sure to inform your manager so that everyone is on the same page.
What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions, that includes coaching engagements where a company or organization hires me.
As a Certified Diversity Coach and Certified Life and Executive Coach , these are the general strategies I use in my coaching sessions whether it's about personal or professional goals.
Additionally as a Certified Diversity Coach, additional strategies I use are:
Coaching is often helpful for people who want to make positive changes in their life and are willing to commit time, effort, and resources in the coaching process.
While coaching has the potential to help everyone, not everyone is ready or eager to participate in the coaching process. Those who are resistant to change or who are closed to feedback or new ideas, for example, may not be excellent candidates for coaching.
Also, some people may have underlying mental health issues, such as severe depression or anxiety, that must be addressed before they can completely engage in coaching.
Coaching may be a useful supplement to therapy or other mental health care in these instances, but it may not be sufficient on its own.
Finally, the success of coaching is determined by a number of elements, including the client's drive, receptivity to feedback, and readiness to take action in order to attain their goals.
A skilled coach can assist clients in identifying their strengths, overcoming hurdles, and developing growth plans, but it is ultimately up to the client to own their goals and commit to the coaching process.
The duration of your coaching process will vary based on the complexity of your goals and your level of engagement and receptiveness to the process.
It is not uncommon for clients to reach a point of plateau after a few months, and that is normal.
Coaching is a dynamic journey in which we continually reassess, reflect, and make adjustments as needed.
One-on-one coaching sessions are scheduled through an online tool where you can easily book, and choose a schedule that works for you.
Special schedule arrangements may also be agreed upon depending on the nature of the program or engagement.
All one-on-one coaching sessions are done online via Zoom, unless there is a special client request.
Group sessions may be done either in-person or virtual.
Yes! All programs are customized to make sure that your objectives are met.
A meeting is typically scheduled to gather information from the corporate client’s point of contact, and additional information may also be requested to aid in the customization.
Aside from Life Coaching, I also offer Executive, Leadership, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Coaching, and Health & Wellness Coaching.
As a Facilitator, I conduct workshops/seminars and online courses.
As a Speaker, I focus on utilizing diversity in coaching conversations, strengths-based coaching and other topics around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging depending on the request.
As your coach, you can count on me to:
Overall, you can count on me to be a helpful and encouraging partner in your personal and professional development. I will assist you in gaining insight, overcoming obstacles, and developing the skills and tactics required to attain your objectives and live a more rewarding life.
